Slush Is A Good Thing

“The goal is to create a world that you can only visit for the duration of the event and it strives to be an unmatched experience you can’t find anywhere else on earth.” Says President of Slush, Nicolas Dolenc. Over the course of 3 days, “Slush” 2017 is turning Hellsinki, Finland into the largest global hotspot for startups, investors, and some of the most brilliant minds of our generation. With speakers Al Gore (Chairman of Generation Investment Management), Lu Zhang (Founding and Managing partner of NewGen Capital), and Mark Pincus (Founder of Zynga), it’s hard to believe that this event will be nothing short of spectacular for startup founders and investors alike. Slush’s main goal for this year is to bring speakers who can inspire its audience to solve the current problems of the world. With this lineup of speakers and global tech gurus, I bet $20 we don’t start seeing some progress in the coming months.

Aside from the notorious names and companies that will be in attendance, this festival of entrepreneurs is organized and driven for the entrepreneurial  community as a whole. It is built to put some of most exciting startups on an international platform and give the little fish in this very big pond a chance to meet the investors who could potentially take their company to the next level. Just ask the team from, SkyREC. SkyREC is a Taiwanese startup that harnesses video analysis and “AI” technology to compile information regarding customer behavior. In 2016 they took home 1 million Yen, gained publicity, and angel investors. “Although we worked with famous, international retailers in the past, SkyREC was an unknown team. The success at Slush Tokyo gave us the publicity; we met our angel investors, expanded in the APAC, European, and local markets.” Says Catie Xie, Co-Founder and Chief Business Development officer of SkyREC.

This is an incredibly huge event for entrepreneurs everywhere. Personally, I am sad I couldn’t make it this year, but I am excited to binge watch the livestreams of my favorite tech-developers, entrepreneurs, and global figureheads alike. You can check out the livestream here along with the full schedule so you don’t miss your favorite speakers and icons. I am beyond stoked to listen to, Neil Parikh, Co-Founder and COO at Casper (I have trouble sleeping through the night).

Tweet us @StarterNoise and let us know who you’re most excited to see & livestream @Slush 2017! We will pick a winner and send you some free stuff.

After studying a few semesters at CCD in Denver and managing his small businesses he discovered his love for entrepreneurship and marketing. When he's not discovering the "next big thing" or trying to start businesses with his buddies he enjoys skiing in the back country, music festivals, and fishing with his friends.
