Cultivating Positivity

cultivating positivity, goals, success, mindful

We all know the terrible ramifications of absorbing too much negative energy. We begin to feel stressed, sad, isolated, and unproductive. Although it is impossible to avoid negativity altogether, we should all prioritize cultivating positivity to protect our emotional wellbeing and professional success.

Here are a few ways to help you embrace your goals with positive thinking.

Say, “no.”

Of course, we all want to help others and be a resource when valuable, but knowing when to say, “no” is a highly valuable skill. Let’s face it, time is our most treasured asset. When we practice saying “no,” we are protecting ourselves from the negative feelings of being stretched too soon.

Surround yourself wisely.

Be cautious and mindful of who you surround yourself with — we tend to mirror those around us. People who choose to live a positive lifestyle will influence those around them to do the same — pick wisely.

Be disciplined.

If the past two years have taught us anything, it’s that anything can change in a moment and nothing is guaranteed. Find a way to clear your mind from all the chaos through meditations, yoga, reading, or whatever works for you.

Move your body.

We feel good when we move our bodies. Get out and go for a run, walk, or bike ride. Let your endorphins run and feel the positive energy run through you.

Know when to rest.

We function best when our lives feel balanced. It’s very easy to be on the go and forget to take time to breathe and relax. Don’t underestimate the importance of resting and the value of one on one time with yourself.
