When a company’s stock goes up, stockholders make money. That is a pretty obvious equation. When Amazon posted first quarter earnings Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, became the fifth richest man in the world. His net-worth is sitting at $59.8 billion.
$59.8 Billion is a lot of money.
It’s more than Donald Trump’s net worth, including his “brand” worth.
The increase also places Amazon way ahead of major retailers, like Walmart. Amazon is currently valued around $320 billion.
Here’s a question for you:
What would you buy with that kind of money? You may be surprised as to how much it is once you start dreaming of spending it.
The City of Denver, recently ranked by Forbes as one of the best places of business and career, has a budget of $1.83 billion. You could run over 300 cities the size of Denver, Colorado with $59.8 billion dollars.
$59.8 billion isn’t “A new wardrobe” or “my own plane” kind of money. It is multiple private islands around Hawaii kind of money.
